Ava loves smoothies so we frequently have them with our breakfasts, or sometimes with dinner if we haven't had enough fruit or veggies in a day. I was given a copy of 201 Healthy Smoothies & Juices for Kids written by Amy Roskelley & Nicole Cormier to try out.

The book is split up into 5 chapters:

1) Helping Kids Become Super Healthy
  • Talks about nutrition & essential ingredients
  • Health benefit of smoothies
  • Picky eaters
  • Juicing at home & health benefits

2) Morning Sunshine: Drinks to Jump-Start the Day
  • Smoothie & juice recipes to get kids ready for the day

3) Ready for Anything: Drinks on the Go
  • Prepare smoothies & juices for on the go - snack on these rather than fast foods while running to after school activities

4) Better Snacks for Better Kids: Drinks with a Purpose
  • Boost immune function & give proper nutrients

5) Just for Fun (and Then Some): Drinks for Dessert
  • Replace sugary desserts with tasty smoothies - theses can fill in nutritional gaps of the day

Chapters 2-5 have pages and pages of smoothie and juice recipes. These chapters also give tips at the bottom of each page  - Green Tips, Picky Eater tips, Time Saver Tips, Nutrition News, and more.

I would recommend 201 Healthy Smoothies & Juices for Kids to parents as I feel it gives a great selection of ideas. I was given a complementary copy for my review. All opinions expressed are my own.
