Pumpkin Patch 2012

We headed to the Pumpkin Patch today and we were lucky with our timing - it was sunny. Just in case the fields were mucky Ava was equipped with rain pants and boots, and baby was in the carrier so she could have a clear view of the festivities.

Before we took the [tractor pulled] wagon to choose pumpkins we stopped for some mini donuts. Obviously we buy them at every chance we get...PNE, Pumpkin Patch, Christmas events....

We then boarded the wagon (Ava had sugar and cinnamon remnants on her face) and joined in the singing as we watched the Halloween and farm scenery go by.

When we arrived at the pumpkin fields Ava decided to choose three pumpkins -  large, medium and small. Daddy had to carry all three so the large one was not huge...but it could have been. (I saw some people carrying around pumpkins that I couldn't lift.)

After Ava completed her selection we took the wagon back and sat on the hay bales to listen to the band playing tunes. The country band singing "I Love Rock 'N' Roll" and dancing veggies made us laugh. Ava turned to us and said, "Hey I have this song!". Yes she does - the real version by Joan Jett....

Once we got home Ava happily put faces on the pumpkins and we'll carve them next weekend.
